Ordinary maps tell us about streets, buildings and parks, but give little or no information about unused or abandoned spaces in our neighbourhood. We started Localtivate to help people discover these pockets of green space, put them on a map and think about ways of using them to help the community. We held our first mapping party in Duddingston as a collaboration between OpenStreetMap and Open Knowledge Scotland.
